GoPro launches QuikStories Automatic Story Creation Feature for Android and iOS

Story from: Digital Street

GoPro, popular action camera maker, has added a new feature called QuikStories to its GoPro mobile app. QuickStories will automatically pull clips shot by your GoPro Hero5 series camera and create a ready-to-share video clip. This new feature is available alongside an update to the GoPro app (which was previously known as Capture) on Android and iOS, while currently only supporting the Hero5 series of action cameras.

Before you actually get started, make sure that your Hero5 camera has the latest firmware update, this should happen automatically once the camera is connected to the app. You will also need the latest versions of the GoPro and Quik apps installed. The app required both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled as the files are transferred over Bluetooth in the background. Once you begin shooting, you receive a little prompt indicating the syncing the footage. After you have tapped ‘Get it’, the video and photos shot within the last 72 hours will start syncing to your phone. You may turn the auto syncing option off in the settings if you require. All imported clips have an expiry of seven days, so if you want a particular clip to stay longer, you’ll have to then save it manually.

Recommended shooting resolution by GoPro: 1080p (as the output clip will eventually be converted to a 720p video file).
*The time taken for the conversion process depends on the resolution quality of the shooting.

Moving away from the footage itself, you also have the ability to mix in videos and photos from your existing library. You will be sent a notification by the GoPro app as to when a story is ready.

Before saving and sharing your creation, you can customize it using a range of transition effects, adding text to parts of the clip, trimming the individual video clips, adding a background track and various filters. However, you should take into consideration that only photos and videos shot in the standard mode are can be used as you will not be able to use videos and photos from timelapse or burst shots.
