Suspected OR Tambo Heist Kingpin Busted Thanks To Idiotic Lamborghini Selfie
Story from: 2oceansvibe.com
The thing about history is that it’s there for us to learn from.
Unfortunately, we don’t use it as much as we should – just take the suspected kingpin behind the audacious OR Tambo heist as the most recent prime example.
He was arrested on Sunday at his luxury Blue Valley Estate home in Centurion near Pretoria just hours after he – get this – posted pictures of himself and friends on social media standing beside a brand new R5 million Lamborghini.
The Times knows the name of the suspect, and reported that a source close to the police investigation said that “officers recovered a large amount of cash when they raided the suspect’s home.”
Another source told The Times that the arrest followed the arrest of four men on Saturday night, the first suspect a 20-year-old security guard.
Arrested in Tembisa in the East Rand, the suspect worked for Guardforce which was in charge of escorting the money to SAA flight 294 when it was stolen last week.
Tsk tsk. Here’s more:
The second arrest, of a 39-year old G4S security guard, occurred at Elandsfontein shortly afterwards, said the source. G4S was responsible for escorting the Guardforce employees in charge of the money.
“A Zimbabwean national, who is alleged to have cloned the police vehicles used in the heist, was arrested in Norkem Park. The fifth person arrested is also a guard, who is responsible for perimeter duties at the airport,” the source said.
It is not clear who this guard was employed by.
Police are yet to confirm both the amount of money stolen and how much has been recovered so far – but we can only assume it won’t be long until all 13 members are behind bars for playing one role or another.
