How To Wear Your Heart On Your Sleeve This Mandela Day [Video]

Story from: 2oceansvibe.com

In 2010, Nelson Mandela’s grandchildren established Long Walk to Freedom (L.W.T.F), a clothing brand that would bring a touch of Madiba magic to the clothing industry around the globe.

Speaking to the next generation of leaders, the brand was focused on reinforcing the iconic role Madiba played in South Africa.

Now, to celebrate Mandela Day on July 18, South African lifestyle apparel brand Magents has teamed up with L.W.T.F to release a limited edition collection of t-shirts for the day.

Check them out:

That’s some powerful stuff.

Available at Magents, Bluecollarwhitecollar, Wear South Africa and Relabelled stores nationwide, the Mandela Day initiative is endorsed by the Wear South African Movement which aligns itself with very similar ethics to L.W.T.F:

– Wear South African (Wear SA) is a movement designed to encourage every South African to support buying local.

– Wear SA wishes to encourage designers and retailers to think about where they source their materials from designing and making garments that can be sold in South Africa and worn anywhere.

– Wear SA is committed to making South Africa an economic clothing and designer powerhouse and asks that consumers consciously think about the products they buy – whether it is a fashion item or not.

Feel the movement’s inspiration with the video below:

Pretty sweet, hey?

Other than just wearing a picture of Madiba all day, for every t-shirt sold, 9% will be donated to the Mandela Day Library Schools Project.

And, with every t-shirt being made in South Africa, that means you are supporting local initiatives and businesses to the max.

Go on.
